Record Store Day is around the corner, and it’s gonna be a party. It’s time to stop by your local indie record shop, listen to some great music, and pick up a stack of limited edition vinyl while you’re at it. Here’s what you can expect:
USA – Keep an eye out for a limited blue vinyl soundtrack to the new film about legendary punk/new wave label Wax Trax!. There will also be a stunning box set of soul icon Al Green’s 7” singles from Hi Records. Check out this list of exclusive releases for more.
Japan – If you’re near Tokyo, you could do worse than to stop by the Soundswap record fair at Deus Ex Machina in Harajuku. Down south in Osaka, Hawaii Record is hosting an in-store sake and snacks party, so come hungry! There’s a full list of events in Japan here.
UK – Record Store Day in the UK is being emceed by comedic power duo, The Mighty Boosh, who are taking the opportunity to release their first ever album on a multicoloured array of 180g vinyl. Pick up this set of comedic gold at one of the fantastic events happening across the UK.
